SNAPSHOT: FileMaker Server Admin Toolbar

From Dwayne Wright - www.dwaynewright.com

The FileMaker Server Admin Console is an application designed to work with FileMaker Server. At the time that I’m writing this, it is designed to work with FileMaker Server 9. You can run this application on the same machine as the FileMaker Server or via any networked computer capable of running FileMaker Pro (and can access the FileMaker Server you need to access).

Across the top of the FileMaker Server Admin Console is a toolbar with 7 buttons. These buttons do not have labels, icons only. They do have tooltips that will pop up when your cursor hovers above them and this well help you identify them until you get familiar with their purpose. The buttons are as follows ...

Start The Database Server - this will of course start the designated FileMaker Server that has been stopped.

Stop The Database Server - this will of course stop the designated FileMaker Server that is currently running.

Start The Web Publishing Engine - this will of course start the properly configured FileMaker Web Publishing Engine on that machine that has been stopped.

Stop The Web Publishing Engine - this will of course stop the currently running FileMaker Web Publishing Engine on that machine.

Start The Database Upload Assistant - allows you to put a database directly on the server from the machine that is running the FileMaker Server Admin Console.

Open FileMaker Server Start Page in the default Web Browser from the machine that is running the FileMaker Server Admin Console.

Open FileMaker Server Test Page - which I discussed briefly at the following web post (CLICK HERE)
