In this example, we have 5 fields that go along with 5 buttons. The 5 buttons are linked to the Insert script steps associated with their button names. Each explains itself pretty well and the example allows you to create and edit records by using these commands.
Remember, the first two get their data from the FileMaker file and the last 3 from the computer system. If the date and time are incorrect on the computer using the Insert Current Date or Insert Current Time, the data inserted will be inaccurate as well. The Insert Current User data is acquired from the computers user name from the operating system or the name of the user defined in the FileMaker preference dialog box. This can be inaccurate as well if the user did not define their name properly in those areas or is using someone else’s computer.
