Range Operators In Text Searches

Some FileMaker developers might think that the greater than, less than and range search symbols are only for number, date and time fields. This is incorrect. You can use these symbols with text fields as well.

In this example, we want to show you how you can use the greater than, less than and range search operators with text. The button labeled Find Greater Than O finds words that start later than the letter O in the alphabet. The button labeled Find Less Than F finds words that start before the letter F in the alphabet. The button labeled Find Range C...J uses finds the words that start with the letter C up to words that start with J in the alphabet.
