QUESTION: Anyone else having this problem in an MS Outlook environment? It happens with any script to email action that includes a snapshot link. The enclosure is corrupted and will not open in FileMaker. In some cases, it wants to open DreamWeaver.

The problem turned out to be bad data in a "title" field for the record that was used to name the snapshot link. Something as simple as an invisible carriage return make the link look ok but wouldn't open properly. The user was using a standard copy/paste action to populate my FileMaker database from data in an Excel spreadsheet. An invisible carriage return was riding shotgun during that action and I was using that data to create the name of the snapshot link.

My solution, wrap the data field within the custom function SuperTrim, a custom function found on the popular custom function area of briandunning.com. I've use this function in almost all of my solutions and thanks to Debi Fuchs of Aptworks Consulting for sharing it!
