Creating A FileMaker Startup Splash / About Screen

This is a very easy thing to do and you probably noticed that we do this with all of our example files. It’s a simple technique of creating a script that goes to a splash layout, pauses for a few seconds and then goes to the main user layout. Many developers will tie a user back to this screen with an About script in their solution. That way the user has a way to contact the developer if / when the need arises.

Here you can see the startup splash screen that I show in my InBizness product. This screen shows for three seconds before moving on. I included a Continue button, just in case the user does not want to wait.

Here you can see a small section of the startup script that has my splash script steps and it even has a little logic that insures the user agrees to the license agreement.
